**Important to Employers – New Changes to the FCRA Requirements.
As of January 1, 2013 – Employers will need to use the updated FCRA Forms as part of their background check process.  The updated forms are Appendix K, Appendix M and Appendix N to 12 CFR part 1022.  The primary changes in the forms reflect that consumers contact the CFPB or visit: www.consumerfinance.gov/learnmore to obtain more information about their rights, instead of contacting the FTC.  

The most important form for employers is “A Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.”  All Employers must provide this updated summary  to applicants and employees when a pre-adverse action letter is sent by either the employer or the background screening company.
Total Screening Solutions will also provide a copy with the report sent to the candidate.  *A copy of the new rights should be placed in both the Pre-Adverse and Adverse Action letter.

Why should we conduct drug tests?
Drug testing proves to be beneficial for many reasons.  Many insurance companies will reduce rates for liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance if drug testing is performed prior to employment and if a Drug Free Workplace policy is in place.

How is drug testing performed?
All our drug screenings are done through urinalysis. Our 10 Panel Instant tests are completed in about 5 minutes.  The 10 Panel Lab tests are collected and sent to the lab each night, all negatives are reported out within 24 hours of collection.  Some specimens may require additional screening and can remain at the lab for 72 hours.  All Non-Negative results are sent to the MRO (Medical Review Officer) for confirmation of valid prescription history, as required by law.
